We are alive! :)..Warning long post ahead

So who knew all the fun things the Lord would have instore for us with the arrival of our fourth little one?! Miss Sadie Gwyneth is here and adorable! She thought it would be humorous to break my water as I walked around at Target with my three kiddos and Sister in law with her two boys in tow. (I still managed to buy my items mind you)
So graciously my SIL Michelle took her sons (1 who is a newborn himself) and my 2 older ones in her car to her home as I followed close behind with Lauren (who by the way was so appalled that we left her Yaya and Sissy that she was throwing a tantrum in the back of the car and dumped a perfectly good diet coke out onto the floor)
I met my wonderful friend Kristen at my house as she helped me pack the last of my things and I took a shower and waited for my hubby to arrive very quickly home from work to take me to the hospital...Debi came too to take photos of course:)
So after waiting in the triage "holding room" for what seemed like hours (probably about 15 minutes) my husband who reminded the lady behind the desk that indeed his wife's water had broke and he would be able to make a scene at any moment if she wanted him to got me in a room upstairs right about 4:45, I had in fact proven to all that I was in official labor and we were going to have a baby:)
I got the best nurse...Beth, who took no baloney from my Husband, it was quite funny actually and took the best care of me, she even stayed 2 hours past her shift to stay with me when I had Sadie. Well, I did get an epidural but it wasn't working on my left side, so they repositioned me and pumped up the meds. but it was all bad timing, they didn't check me before they decided to do that and I ended up being 10 and ready to push soon after the extra dose that left me completely numb! I mean completely, I couldn't move, my legs were mush and I felt really sick. Well we proceeded to wait...and wait...and wait for the on call Dr. to arrive. I think I heard the nurse say if I sneezed or coughed we would have a baby.
She got the back up clan ready just in case we didn't make it for the Dr. and I was wisely told by my 2 dulas to wait or Doogie Howser was going to deliver my child. So Mr. Dr. finally came to every one's relief and out came Miss Sadie:)
She was a delight, unfortunately I was unable to enjoy her due to some yucky side effects I was experiencing from the epi.
i.e. the "First Bottle" picture.
Well, the fun didn't end there, the next day I had one more bad experience with some pain medicine and begun taking trips to the bathroom to throw them all up:) Oh but wait, I then realize my husband is sharing the bathroom with me throwing up himself from...yes you guessed it, a stomach virus. Now it was indeed a beautiful bathroom...(granite counter tops, a spacious shower, all it needed was a hair dryer)to have two people throwing up in but it was one awful experience. BUT low and behold the Lord is ever so gracious because who in the moments prior show up...The Davis' to the rescue. What they thought was a nice visit to meet a new baby ended up something way different. Kyle escorted Jonathan home with the kiddos and Tara stayed and took care of me and the baby. She even waited until she knew I was feeling better and finally got me the right medicine to get back on the road to recovery. Did I mention they gave up a date night too in order to serve us, Amazing. Where would we be without the body of Christ??
So was this completely different then I thought it would be? Why yes, yes it was. Its an interesting situation when your pediatrician offers you a ride home from the hospital. Jonathan was able to pick us up the next day although his symptoms lingered for a few days after that but thank goodness no one else has gotten it and he is now better:)
We are now all adjusting to our crazy life of four children, Taylor and Colin are doing very well and continue to serve with the baby, Lauren really likes "Baby Sadie" and wants to hold her all the time. She was very worried the first time Sadie nursed exclaiming to her new sister not to bite mommy and even offered her food to eat or a sippy cup. She has since calmed down and even delights in the fact that in her words "Sadie is eating mommy's booby." Yes, there is little modesty here lately...Well there's my story of labor in a nut shell here is a slide for you to enjoy:)

Oh Medana! I'm so glad she is finally here! You look great in those pictures! If my water breaks before I have a chance to get my epidural, I hope I'm smiling like that!!! =) I can't wait to see her in person. Regularly I stand amazed at how good God has been to you and Jonathan. It's amazing to look back at where you were when you had Taylor and to see what a wonderful wife and mom you are now. Thank you for responding to the Lord's work in your life! You are such an example to me. (Oh, and you make me laugh, too.)
